In a former life, I may have called this home garish and excessive, distasteful even. But in this age of maximalism and over-the-top glamour. the Australian pad of designer Christian Lyon feels so right! Inspired by its 80's origins, Lyon modernized the residence to create a home that's uniquely his. Airy spaces like the double-height entry and monochromatic bedroom balance more dramatic ones while modern shapes mingle among geometric motifs and opulent materials. Cheers to excess!

Desiré is a designer, blogger, and lover of all things glamorous. Though primarily a self-taught decorator, Desiré studied at The Art Institute, where she honed a distinct aesthetic largely influenced by the Modern Glamour movement, the theme of her popular design blog, Sukio.
