Interiors: Giambattista Valli's Paris Apartment
I love his clothes, so, naturally, I love the place he calls home. Fashion designer Giambattista Valli (I also love pronouncing his name) blends bits of his native Rome with some unconventional design choices to create a space that inspires. For example, Valli opted for daybeds and benches over the standard sofa (the latter would be like a "heavy rock" on his brain); artwork is set atop every available surface; and while the contrast of old and new is jarring, it undoubtedly works.
I always work in opposites... As a Roman there is austerity, and as a Parisian, opulence. - GV
