"It's so glamorous, I can hardly stand it," said the thought bubble overhead when I stumbled upon the Manhattan townhouse of Richard and Christine Mack. The pair enlisted interior designer James Aman to blend their contrasting styles into one spectacular family home. Aside from fabulous art and furniture, Aman added luster to every inch. Mirror, brass, velvet, crystal, silver leaf... even the walls shimmer with perfectly-applied layers of Venetian plaster. In short, this place is gor-geous.

I didn't want it to be super-modern or traditional. I wanted it to feel organic and timeless. - homeowner Christine Mack
