The Undeniably Most Popular Post of the Year
Thanks to your page visits, inbound links, and pins, it was a cinch to determine the most beloved post of 2012, but first, let's recap, shall we?
MORE FASHION? BUT OF COURSE
I started off the year unsure about this whole blogging thing. As you may recall, I took a brief hiatus before getting back online around late February. It must have been just the break I needed as I've become truly passionate about this little endeavor. As promised, the blog’s fashion content continues to grow. This fervor has even overflowed to Pinterest where I collaborated with fellow bloggers in pinning Fashion Week. So, watch out, fashionistas! The new year is sure to bring much more!
EXPANDING MY HORIZONS
In the spring, I posted a few stories from my lifestyle-blogging-project-turned-Pinterest-board, Luxe.ly. I shared another story even more recently on Tumblr. Reading through this sampling serves as a reminder to keep my horizons broad as inspiration, or a witty thought, can come from anywhere - not just the pages of design magazines. This is the spirit that guides my blog series, A Designer's Eye. Be open! Ponder. Wonder. Creativity is like a muscle that must be exercised and trained!
As noted, I also share my design sensibilities on Tumblr and Pinterest, which brings me to your favorite posts on each. The results may surprise you!
BEST OF TUMBLR: A NOD TO THE OLD SCHOOL
Tumblr friends couldn't get enough of this pic featuring a typewriter and accessories by Kelly Wearstler. I guess it reflects just how eager many of us are to get back to the finer and simpler things in life. My iPad is awesome, but nothing beats handwriting a letter and drinking tea from a pretty cup.
BEST OF PINTEREST: A NOD TO THE FUN AND FLIRTY
Pinterest peeps adored this little ensemble by style blogger, Frassy. I pinned the pic for the neon orange Jimmy Choo shoes, but I suspect the matching clutch and Zara dress had their share of fans.
And now, the moment you've been waiting for...
BEST OF SUKIO: A NOD TO PARISIAN GLAMOUR
Your hands-down favorite post of the year was Lauren Santo Domingo's Paris Duplex. Admittedly, I was completely smitten when I spotted the home in September's Vogue. It has all the glamorous and modern elements that I adore. Glad you enjoyed it too!
And last, but certainly not least...
THANK YOU! Readership has quadrupled this year (you read that right) and I'm extremely grateful for everyone’s support. I hope to bring you even more luscious, luxe, and downright sexy design content in 2013. Let's do this!
Sincerely,
Desiré
