Interiors: Donna Karan's Upper West Side Sanctuary

Yesterday, I tuned in to a design forecast presentation for Fall 2013 and became particularly enamored with the megatrend aptly titled Quietude. It's all about finding solace in a fast-paced world, whether through feelings evoked by soft colors and textures or creating a literal refuge – "urban spas" or personal spaces to decompress.

Donna Karan's zen-like apartment is a perfect example of Quietude in practice. As the designer notes, "it’s all about finding the calm in the chaos" or in this case, creating a perfectly tranquil space in the heart of a bustling city.
