A Friendly Reminder: Vote

michelle-obama-vote.jpg

Let’s face it. For many of us, voting isn’t fun. It often requires waking up extra early or getting home extra late. In fact, I spent hours in 4-inch heels to cast a ballot in 2008. I waited not because it was fun, but because I should. I know many consider voting a right, but I like to think of it as something more.

You see, you can choose whether or not to exercise your right (I have a right to bear arms after all). Rather, I see voting as a gift – one so valuable that it would be silly to throw away. A gift so extraordinary that many are willing to die for it. The power of a vote, especially one to choose our country’s leader, is undeniable.

So, no matter your party or favorite candidate, take the time to vote tomorrow!
