The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

Interiors: A Lady Den by Nina Freudenberger

Ok. It’s officially called the "Sitting Room," but with its dark hemp-covered walls and patchwork rug, this space feels rather den-like. Nina created the room for Elle Décor's Modern Life Concept House (read about last year’s visit), and although it lacks traditional feminine details, she designed it with a lady in mind. "This room belongs to a confident woman who enjoys her private time."

Hmm… sounds like it was designed with ME in mind. Thanks, Nina!

P.S. The seating, love seat and dining chairs, is by Jason Wu. That’s my subtle nod to the start of New York Fashion Week, which I will frantically start pinning later today!

Interiors: Moments at the Cathedral Antiques Show House

Moments may be short-lived but they certainly can be memorable. Moments are also the foundation of great interior design photography. Perfectly styled and cleverly cropped, each vignette can tell its own story. Here are four such moments from the 2012 Cathedral Antiques Show Inspiration House. Which is your favorite?

1. Crisp and clean in the living room

"I chose the palette—grounded by walls in a pure, bright white—to place emphasis on the forms of the individual elements of the room, as well as the composition and utilization of the space." - Rick Anthony Bonner, Bonner, LLC

2. Mulberry, inkblots and high shine in the library

"I love the unexpected, and I wanted to take your typical library and turn it on its head. It’s okay to push the envelope and go a bit modern in a traditional space." - Lindsey Coral Harper, Lindsey Coral Harper Interiors

3. Starbursts and velvet in the Lady’s Retreat

"I wanted [visitors] to appreciate the attention to detail, from the framed antique jade pieces to the custom drape tables to the layering of textures in the fabrics and trims on the upholstery and pillows." - Elisabeth Jordan, Elisabeth Jordan Interiors

4. Modern serenity in the spa-like master bath

"The materials were chosen for their clean, modern lines—in shades of soft white, gray and espresso—as well as for their purity, softness, contrast and subtle drama." - Jenny Rothman, Designer, Hammersmith

Friday Fashion: A "Dream" Office by Catherine Kwong

Today's Friday Fashion post brings you another example of fashion and design harmonizing like my favorite Bee Gees song. Designer Catherine Kwong created this glamorous home office for the 2012 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. Her inspiration: the fashion bloggers of the Bay Area.

...San Francisco is full of incredible fashion bloggers who have a unique perspective on the latest trends. With this type of writer in mind, I set out to create a dream office — complete with pinup boards for tear sheets and look books and, of course, a custom closet to display a truly inspirational wardrobe. - C.K.

You've probably seen the pics circulating about the Internet, but I just had to share! The space is gorgeous but a little sparse. I personally would add some visitor's chairs so I can chat with my gal pals about how fabulous life is. And perhaps, a reading nook to peruse all of my awesome fashion tomes (or stare at my handbag collection. whichever).

DC Design House 2012: Snazzy Small Spaces

Although grand in many ways, this year's Design House also presented some small-space challenges. My favorite solutions are the second floor foyer and third floor bath - itty bitty rooms with lots of pizazz.

DC Design House Second Floor Foyer

You’ll immediately notice that the second floor foyer is covered in black embossed croc (hence why it’s a fave). The designers Carolyn Winston and Elizabeth Boland used fairly traditional furniture but modernized the space with a high-contrast color combination. Mr. Lincoln approves!

The third floor bath demonstrates one of the most repeated lessons in design. Liven up a small space with boldly printed wallpaper. Designer Christopher Patrick selected the paper to complement existing floor tiles. Why replace when you can make it work?

The vanity was custom built by design pal Kaleo Kala and topped with carrera marble. I think it turned out splendidly.

DC Design House 2012: Cute Spaces for Kiddies

The fictitious baby girl and 5 yr old boy who call the DC Design House their home have absolutely adorable rooms to lay their heads at night. The Modern Nursery by Elizabeth Krial is fit for any princess with shades of pink and super girlie touches like a mini chandelier. I also adore the peony wallpaper and Moroccan Poufs!

The boy's room is more subdued and, of course, more masculine. A feature of note - Designer Nancy Twomey not only upholstered the headboard but the platform bed as well. Surprise!

Surprise #2: The twin headboard is layered atop a queen-sized headboard making the transition to big boy bed super easy.
