The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

Weekend Reading

Kelly Wearstler Outdoor Table Setting, Lonny Magazine

Happy Saturday! If you’re in the mood for some light reading to cap off a long work week, this post is for you! Both Lonny and Rue Magazines recently published their May issues. Each is filled with season-appropriate eye candy, so head on over and be inspired. You may even find some cool entertaining tips for your Mother’s Day soiree. Speaking of…

I'd be remiss if I didn’t send a warm and fuzzy "Happy Mother's Day" to all the mommies out there. Mothers are the glue of the universe! Where would we be without them?

Interiors: A Touch of Honey

So many goodies in the latest issue of Rue! Favorites include this redo of a 1920's Mediterranean-style home by designer Tamara Honey. Tamara anchors many of the rooms with glorious ebonized floors – a look I’m yearning to implement on a project at some point. I love it! Other design choices are just as bold and brilliant. For example, the breakfast nook's coral furniture stands in sharp contrast to the dark blue walls (Can you say "drama?").

Overall, this home reminds me to simply go for it. Have some guts! You can always change it up later.

Interiors: Modglam Mix...

Love this home by designer Wendy Schwartz. It's modern, it's eclectic, and it's most definitely glamorous. The home features a great mix of old and new with spiffy finishes like embossed crocodile wallpaper in the powder room. Of course, I'm all about the black dining room's chandelier and vintage leather chairs (which are from 1st Dibs, by the way). Expect to see more of Wendy's work here on the blog. Her style is definitely up my alley.
