Suitable for both genders, purple's many shades make it extremely popular - perhaps, trumping Honeysuckle as color of the year. Elle Decor, Living room, Luster, Palette, fireplaces There are two kinds of people I love, those who are unafraid of color and those who are unafraid of pattern. Therefore, it seems, I love Nina Freudenberger of Haus Interior! I've been a fan since learning of her in Lonny Magazine and this recent design for the Hamptons Designer Showhouse demonstrates why. Her foyer injects wit and whimsy into a rather stately environment.

Can quirky eclecticism be glamorous? I say "yay!" The London home of Abigail Ahern is so unapologetic, so provocative, so... weird that it deserves an honorary glamour pass. A rich backdrop of bluish grays provides the perfect canvas for brightly colored accents, an array of textures, and one very cute pup!

Palette The genius of this living room by Ernest De La Torre lies in its singular, chartreuse sofa. May not sound very revolutionary but that’s where my eye goes every time - to the sofa, the artwork, and back again. It’s the proverbial pop of color in a fully upholstered piece.
So, why a “party pad”? Because three sofas facing a baby grand sounds like a party to me! (At least my kind of party)

Drapery, Ernest De La Torre, Palette, interior design, scale, tufting I have a love affair with green and this design by Celerie Kemble reminds me why. It’s fresh and sophisticated, glam and modern. Yes, I DO love it, not to mention her clever use of multiples and delicious design choices (I’m talking green, velvet tufting, folks). So, what do you think? Is green glam? or blue’s ugly stepchild?

Celerie Kemble, Drapery, Luster, Palette, interior design, undefined Issue 3 of Rue Magazine is fraught with design goodness including this Brooklyn brownstone by Ishka Designs (pg 166). Loving the beautiful blue wall color! Another favorite is Nicole Cohen’s Manhattan apartment (pg 100). Very modern. Very glam. Very me.
