The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

Interiors: A Designing Duo's Moroccan Getaway

Shoe designer Bruno Frisoni, of famed fashion house Roger Vivier, and furniture designer Hervé Van der Straeten create an eclectic retreat in the medina of Tangiers, Morocco.

I’m absolutely enamored by the Tangiers residence of Bruno Frisoni and Hervé Van der Straeten. The home, appearing in the June issue of Vogue, exudes the French modern aesthetic that I love while maintaining its classic Moroccan features. In addition to France and Morocco, the couple used finds from around the globe—from Mexico to the Middle East—creating an eclectic retreat that mixes colors, styles, and textures.

The design was inspired by varied sources including works by Matisse, the city palaces of Damascus, and nearby homes of French expats.

"In an ever-expanding city where clumsy construction continues at a relentless pace, the Frisoni and Van der Straeten house seems untouched by the frenzied activity outside the medina’s walls." - Vogue

Interiors: The Selman Marrakech by Jacques Garcia

Yesterday, I spoke with a friend/former colleague who has spent the last year travelling the world with his wife. And when I say "travelling the world," I mean it in the most literal of ways. So far, he's visited a dozen or so countries across four continents capturing the entire experience on his blog GlackPacking. Overcome by envy, I started planning a rather aspirational excursion of my own, an around-the-world tour via private jet! A friend and I have joked about it for years and now, we have a date: Fall 2020.

Our tour will most likely include Marrakech, Morroco, which has captured the imagination of so many in the design world (From Me To You/The Glamourai, My Marrakesh, and Lonny, just to name a few). Of course, we'll stay in the most luxurious of hotels (of course) where we can wine, dine, and chat about how grand life is! The recently opened Selman Marrakech is a definite option. Designed by Jacques Garcia (you may remember him from The NoMad Hotel), it's the epitome of Morrocan glamour.

"The 56 rooms, suites and villas display Garcia's dramatic tastes, which range from suede walls to studded furniture. Ornate, black-and-white zellij-pattern tiling is everywhere, on floors, pillars and walls; and the addition of black lacquer gives old Moroccan style a sexy feel..." - Condé Nast Traveller

Friday Fashion: Moroccan Glamour

I'm in absolute awe of the latest collaboration between Kelly Framel and Jamie Beck. Utter and complete gorgeousness! I love every picture. The Selma Hayek-esque model is amazing, the clothes are spectacular, and the photography is slammin'! Have I used enough adjectives yet? Seriously, check out the complete feature on Jamie's and Kelly's respective websites. The following is just a taste of what the two have created.
