The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

Introducing Domaine!

I wasn’t sure what to expect of the Who What Wear girls’ latest venture, Domaine. After all, there are so many home design/decorating and/or lifestyle websites, some of which I really, really love. Could this one light my fire??? Oh, yes it has! In addition to beautiful photography, Domaine offers something a little different – smart web design + a no-nonsense POV + the intangible. Or in their words: …a resource for aesthetic-minded, creatively intelligent design lovers looking for home decor inspiration and ideas. Yep, I'm sold.

Like other online mags, Domaine clues you in to the products featured within editorials and elsewhere. But unlike the others, this shopping aspect is front and center, even part of the site's tagline. Getting "the look" is part of Domaine's mantra and easy to do thanks to scrollable shopping lists at the end of each feature.

Glam it up: A Peek Inside Kelly Wearstler's Rhapsody

Remember this post back in August? Well, the moment is almost upon us. Kelly Wearstler’s latest tome, ‘Rhapsody,’ is set to be released in less than two weeks (the 23rd to be exact)! Thanks to the L.A. Times, I can temper my giddiness with gorgeous teaser photos from the book. You’ll notice pics of Kelly's Mercer Island project as well as brand new eye candy. Enjoy!

"'Rhapsody' is about a bunch of things — different periods, scales and textures — coming together to create a beautiful space." - Kelly Wearstler

Here's a great example of one of Kelly's infamous vibe trays. It includes hardware, stone, fabric, and paint choices for the sitting room pictured below. She opts for the fluidity of objects in a tray rather than tacking things to an inspiration board.

"I want to inspire people to take risks and to create an environment that feels spirited. Mixing antiques, vintage and contemporary design pieces and art is honoring our past and embracing the future. You end up with a much more soulful interior." - Kelly Wearstler

Glam it up: Jonathan Adler's Catalog of Happy Chic

Yay, JA! I was super giddy to receive a real-life, hardcopy of Jonathan Adler’s latest catalog in the mail yesterday. Over the years, I’ve seen numerous PDF files and price sheets, but never a catalog with such fun photography! I just had to scan and share! It seems the JA marketing crew is fully aware of their sassy gal fan base.

The catalog also features some fab, modglam vignettes to showcase modern furniture and shiny accessory options (lots of brass, of course).

As a former purveyor of happy chic, I can attest: You can never go wrong with a bit of JA! The products are well-crafted and even more beautiful than the pics (trust). And soon, Washingtonians can experience it all first-hand when Jonathan Adler opens in Georgetown. Happy chic = happy me!

Glam it up: Madeline Weinrib's New York Showroom

Here, there, everywhere... Over the past few months, I've caught tantalizing glimpses of Madeline Weinrib's new atelier in NYC. It's truly a textile Mecca! Against a backdrop of art, furniture, and objects culled from her travels, the space serves as the ultimate playground for those looking to experience Madeline's designs first-hand.

"Her contemporary riffs on traditional ethnic motifs quickly became a cult favorite with decorators and fashionistas. Now she’s branching out with her own space: a showroom on lower Fifth Avenue that serves as a laboratory for design..." - Elle Decor
