Friday Fashion: Denzel Washington for GQ

Back in mid-September, the beau snapped some pics of his soon-to-be bestie, Denzel Washington. Denzel was in town for what has become an annual appearance at the National Press Club, and, just as he did last year, my boyfriend managed to chat with the actor afterwards. Ok. Yes. I’m jealous. How many times must I click through pics of him and Denzel palling around without me?!?! Alas.

In honor of their budding relationship, here is Denzel in my very first, men's Friday Fashion post wearing Calvin Klein, J. Crew, Boss and others for GQ. The beau and I agree, at 57, Denzel is looking good!

He's talented, he's handsome, but is he a nice guy? I asked my boyfriend for his impressions. A writer by trade, he couldn't help but type up a thoughtful response:

Friday Fashion: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013

Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2013 show looked like a walking Mediterranean vacation - happy colors, straw sandals, beachwear... And based on the cheery, backstage candids, the models may have felt a little of that vacation spirit!

I later read that Dolce & Gabbana’s native Sicily served as inspiration for the collection, which is entitled “Sea, Sun, and Love”. While you may not love every look, you may enjoy how the duo translated a place—its mood and culture—into fashionable wares as explained via live tweets during the show.

Friday Fashion: The Look of the Week

Today concludes several days of pinning the loveliest designs from New York Fashion Week. With so many beautiful collections this year, it was really tough to choose a favorite. So, to mark the week's end, I'm sharing what seems to be one of the most popular looks. This striped dress by Oscar de la Renta has the social media world all a' flutter.

Indeed - it probably is. It's comfortable, sophisticatedly simple, and has pockets. What's not to love?

It’s that time of year again. Yesterday marked the start of New York Fashion Week! Today’s shows included Jason Wu who balances feminine silhouettes with the sexiness of leather and lace. A spring trend perhaps? Looking forward to more collections and pinning my favorite looks here!

Friday Fashion: Georgina Chapman & the Glamorous World of Marchesa

Let’s face it. It’s Georgina’s world and we’re just living in it. Not only is she a talented designer, but she’s also incredibly gorgeous, married to a Hollywood mogul, and has a British accent that just seems a little more sophisticated than the rest. I’ve always loved her creations for Marchesa (the label she co-founded with Keren Craig), but I really took notice during her stint on Project Runway All Stars. Her critiques were spot on and affirmed that she’s not just a pretty face. This girl knows her stuff.
