The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

Friday Fashion: Olivia Palermo for Marie Claire Spain

Olivia Palermo for Marie Claire Spain

Oh, the pretty flowers… and cupcakes… and balloons! Photographer Nacho Alegre brings a sultry sophistication to patently girlie things in this editorial featuring Olivia Palermo. In yet another cover story for Marie Claire Spain, the style icon wears looks by Valentino, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, and others against backdrops of floral and brocade.

Friday Fashion: Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture

Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture

This week marked the return of Haute Couture to Parisian runways. Ranging from the outlandish to the downright gorgeous, the Spring 2013 shows brought a variety of looks, many of which were consistent with this year's trend of black and white. Chanel, as always, had the most spectacular set, with Dior not far behind. I loved Valentino’s collection, a favorite among critics, and Giambattista Valli's pairing of slacks with ball gowns was delish.

With award season in full swing, I thought I'd share a few looks by Elie Saab, celebrity stylists' go-to designer for red carpet glamour. Most are betting that at least one of his creations will appear at the Oscars. Beautiful and beaded, they're perfect for a Hollywood star.

Friday Fashion: The Golden Globes' Best Dressed

And the award goes to…

Kerry Washington, 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards

…Kerry Washington, of course! I simply can’t get enough of her modern take on red-carpet glamour. Overall, Globe attire was pretty boring this year with lots of pretty dresses but little wow. Enter Kerry’s nude stretch-tulle and cady Miu Miu gown. Though a simple silhouette, it makes quite the impact thanks to hand-embroidered Swarovski crystals. The details are utterly glamazing!

I also love her perfectly cut hair (bangs rule) and minimal accessories. Kudos to stylist Erin Walsh for pulling this look together. I wonder what the Oscars will bring.

Friday Fashion: Naomi Campbell for Elle US

With her new reality competition show, The Face, Naomi Campbell is poised for a major, personal brand makeover. Say "so long" to her bad girl behavior and hello to the chic, new Naomi! (I'm rooting for her.)

Friday Fashion: Marion Cotillard, My Hero

If you have yet to see The Dark Knight Rises, you probably shouldn't read this.

Friday Fashion: Marion Cotillard, My (Anti) Hero

As tweeted, I finally saw The Dark Knight Rises over the holiday break. I say "finally" because this movie has been on my must-see list since filming began (Upgraded to definitely-must-see after watching the extended trailer. Whoa!).

Was it all that I hoped for? I'm still mulling that over, but I was certainly delighted to see Marion Cotillard as the unlikely villain with a higher purpose. Much like her role in Inception, she delivers some of the sassiest, most gloriously condescending lines of the film. She's perfect! Photographer Ellen von Unwerth captures Marion’s devious tendencies in this sultry fashion editorial.

As Inception's Mal and the Dark Knight's Miranda, Marion (Hmmm… lots of Ms here) plays the bad girl you love to love! When she speaks with that sweet voice and her puppy dog eyes fill with tears, you believe that she simply can't help herself. All her naughty behavior is for your own good. This is, of course, right after she stabs you. It's the paradox that makes her villainous roles so sublime.
