The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

Friday Fashion: Still Fierce

Naomi Campbell Antidote

I know I'm partial, but the super models of my youth are nothing less than fabulous. They are still gorgeous, still working, and still fierce. I get giddy everytime I see one in a new editorial or fashion campaign. Here's Naomi Campbell for Antidote and Kate Moss for Vogue UK. Twenty years later and as awesome as ever!

2012 Met Gala Fave

Well, perhaps, not my absolute favorite, but this Donna Karan Atelier dress is pretty close. Unlike last year's best-dressed choice, this look is less goth and more glam. Nina Dobrev looks absolutely gorgeous!

Here's the original sketch. Slinky and sexy.

I fell in love from the moment I saw the back. The draping from the shoulder plus the train - can I have this, please?!?!

Friday Fashion: A "Dream" Office by Catherine Kwong

Today's Friday Fashion post brings you another example of fashion and design harmonizing like my favorite Bee Gees song. Designer Catherine Kwong created this glamorous home office for the 2012 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. Her inspiration: the fashion bloggers of the Bay Area.

...San Francisco is full of incredible fashion bloggers who have a unique perspective on the latest trends. With this type of writer in mind, I set out to create a dream office — complete with pinup boards for tear sheets and look books and, of course, a custom closet to display a truly inspirational wardrobe. - C.K.

You've probably seen the pics circulating about the Internet, but I just had to share! The space is gorgeous but a little sparse. I personally would add some visitor's chairs so I can chat with my gal pals about how fabulous life is. And perhaps, a reading nook to peruse all of my awesome fashion tomes (or stare at my handbag collection. whichever).

You say men's iPad case. I say chic, oversized clutch.

This is a repost from Luxe.ly, my lifestyle blogging project (2011).

When I was a child, my mother worried that I would become a tomboy. Examples:

In pre-school, I participated in temporary toy swaps, exchanging my toys for Matchbox cars, and in elementary school, I religiously watched Transformers, Voltron, and He-Man (but who didn’t?!?!).

Yes, I sometimes have an infatuation with dude things, and this iPad case by Gareth Pugh proves the point. I love the geometric stamped leather and chevron innards. In fact, I was surprised to find that it was designed with a man in mind. Call me clueless.

Fast forward 30 years - I never became a tomboy (to my mother’s delight). After all, I would pair this “men’s iPad case” with a great pair of stilettos, a gold cuff, and skinny jeans.

Friday Fashion: Sub-Saharan Chic

It’s almost been a year since I last blogged about one of my favorite fashion trends. Specifically, the African-inspired prints and silhouettes gracing recent runways. From super sexy to pretty and playful, here are some looks for Spring/Summer 2012.

Burberry Prorsum Spring

Stella Jean Spring

I know there’s some controversy surrounding the West’s latest embrace of African fashion. Even attempts to name the trend have been a bit dicey (e.g., “ethnic” vs. “tribal” vs. ???). As for me, I’m just happy to see the beautiful motifs of sub-Saharan Africa presented in such a glamorous way. Like a gospel song on a pop music radio station, I love when things I love go mainstream.

W Magazine

LAMB Spring

As a gal who’s been wearing lapa skirts and geles since the 90s, I’m ecstatic that I can dust off my old duds and be considered fashion-forward. The irony is totally working in my favor!

Like the look? See more on hello sukio.
