The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

Glam it up: Kelly Wearstler's Fantasy Dinner Party

Kelly Wearstler's Fantasy Dinner Party

In a post for Vogue Daily, Kelly Wearstler sets the table for a fantasy dinner party using pieces from her tabletop, home accessory, and jewelry collections. Her approach to creating the perfect table includes personalizing each place setting right down to the chairs! As for the fantasy guest list, Kelly selects Martin Margiela, Christian Louboutin, Dries Van Noten, and the legendary Alexander McQueen.

Kelly Wearstler's Fantasy Dinner Party

Just last week, I posted Kristen Nix's fantasy guest list of Tory Burch, Kelly Hoppen, Celerie Kemble, Aerin Lauder, Randy Powers and her mother. Though a common question, I’ve never thoughtfully completed the exercise...

Who would you invite to a fantasy dinner party?

Interiors: David Mann Adds Luster and Light to a Manhattan Duplex

Lacking adequate natural light, designer David Mann incorporated lustrous finishes and reflective surfaces throughout this New York City home. Mann's touches include Venetian-plaster walls with ground mica, polished onyx floors, lots of mirror, and metallic upholstery.

Shagreen-backed cube chairs, Murano-glass lamps, and a silk shag rug in the living room. The mantel is sheathed in gold-leafed glass tile and the dining area's feature wall is covered in antique mirror.

Above: An Hervé Van der Straeten pendant light, brass-and-silver railing, and gray onyx floors in the entrance hall. A salon-style, photo display in the breakfast area. Below: Mirror tile in the bedroom and Sicis glass-mosaic tile in the master bath. So glam.

Interiors: Eclectic Dining...

How bold! How brave! Designer Kimberly Ayres may not have covered the walls in crazy colors or busy wallpaper, but her choice of floor-to-ceiling mirror is gutsy nonetheless. Visually, they do the job - making the room appear large, bright and glamorous. So, naysayers who believe this trend of the 70s and 80s is out of style best think twice. I also love Kimberly's mix of table, chairs, and rug. Oh, and don't forget the chandelier!

Interiors: Traditional With A Twist...

What a great mix of modern and traditional elements in this dining room by Grant Gibson. The design, which is part of 2011's San Francisco Decorator Showcase, features two other faves - kelly green and fantastic floors. So, are black and white patterned floors the next big thing? Hmmmm....
