The name Sukio comes from the Japanese word for "like" or "love" but now has become synonymous with what I find luxe, lovely, and too chic not to share! My aesthetic of choice: MODERN GLAMOUR – a style that marries multiple ideas, viewing traditional notions of glamour through a sophisticated lens. In a word, it’s sooo Sukio! - Desiré

« Friday Fashion: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 »

Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2013 show looked like a walking Mediterranean vacation - happy colors, straw sandals, beachwear... And based on the cheery, backstage candids, the models may have felt a little of that vacation spirit!

I later read that Dolce & Gabbana’s native Sicily served as inspiration for the collection, which is entitled “Sea, Sun, and Love”. While you may not love every look, you may enjoy how the duo translated a place—its mood and culture—into fashionable wares as explained via live tweets during the show.

"...prints depicting the puppets of Sicilian street theaters, typical barrows and ceramic vases" - @dolcegabbana

"The prints are mixed with stripes that recall the beach umbrellas and sunbeds" - @dolcegabbana

So, which look should I cop for my next virtual trip to Sicily? As you know, anything striped is alright by me!
